David Kenny started off the month on winning another National Title.
This time he won the National Indoor 5K title on 26th Feb in a new personal
best of 19.36. He finished almost 2 minutes ahead of fellow Olympian Brendan
Boyce and now moves up to 7th on the all-time Irish list.
Closer to home we have plenty of our athletes competing in the local
Parkruns.
Matthew and Liam Smyth, Tomas Lynch Matthew Hogan complete the Tralee
Junior parkrun nearly every week on Sunday mornings.
In the Senior 5K run Micahel O Connor Brendan lynch and Aidan McCarthy
compete regularly in Tralee and Killarney.
Also in March, Mairead Walsh was our sole representative in the also
competed in Munster school’s cross country in Riverstick in Cork representing
Presentation Castleisland.
At the end of the month Isaac Vickers won the National Schools cross
country race in Tralee. His brother Ryan finished 5th and along with
Kevin O’Shea and Cillian O Sullivan they finished 1st in the team
competition.
