Club Notes Week Ending 24th June 2018

National League Track & Field Championships

Round one of the National League Track & Field Championships were held in Templemore on Sunday 24th June. Kerry County had a Men's and Women's team competing in Division One. Our club was well represented in the mens team.

Rossa Foley picked up points winning the Javelin 46.38m and fourth in the WFD 5.19m. 

Sean O'Shea did well in the Shot finishing in fourth 10.91m. 

Dermot Dineen competed in the 1500m 4:37. 

David Kenny won the 3K Race Walk very comfortably in a time of 12:32. 

The men were placed second overall with combined team points of 103.5. Round two will be on July 8th in Athlone.

County Community Athletic Games

The County Community Athletic Games was held over two days in An Riocht Track, Castleisland under some glorious sunshine. Well done to all our club athletes who represented their areas in a multitude of events. 

Congratulations to the following athletes who won their event and will go forward to represent Kerry in the Nationals.
