Munster Juvenile U14 to U19 Track & Field Championships
The Munster Juvenile U14 to U19 Track & Field Championships were held over two action packed days in Waterford. Yet again all events were very competitive with some thrilling finishes. We had a good number of athletes competing in various Track & Field events. They collected 5 Individual medals in Field events and 2 in Track.
Patrick Kearney did very well to win gold in the U15 Discus.
Liath Lenihan was 3rd in the U16 High Jump.
Conal Whelan was 2nd in the U16 Hammer.
Aine O'Shea was 3rd in the U15 Discus.
Siofra Foley was 3rd in the U17 Javelin & 4th in the Discus and Hammer.
Malachy Kirwan was 6th in the U15 Long Jump.
Cian Spillane had a great weekend where he was 3rd in the U 15 800m and 2nd in the 1500m (4:40).
Shauna McCarthy finished 5th in the U15 1500m (5:11).
Natasha Myers reached the finals on the U16 200m and was 8th in the Long Jump.

In races around the county, Arthur Fitzgerald & Marie McKenna competed in the Half Of The Head 10K. Arthur won the mens in a time of 36:26, with Marie winning the ladies category 42:01.
On Sunday Darragh Casey & George McCarthy took part in the Munster Mountain Championship race over Mangerton in Killarney. Both did very well over the 9Km mountain trail with Darragh finishing in 8th place and George also finished in the top 10.
Congratulations to Aidan McCarthy who got married to Breda over the weekend. We wish them all the best into the future.
We would like to express our sincerest condolences on the passing of Michael O'Shea. Mike was a member of our club many years ago and was a team member of the 1962 team who won the County T&F Quill Cup. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Training will come to an end after the County Community Games Finals on June 24th. We want to wish all our athletes the best of luck and see you back after the summer holidays. A special thanks to all our volunteers and coaches who gave their time to preparing our club members for competition. Your commitment to training has been reflected in your performances in competition in which we had a very successful Track & Field season. Tá buíochas agus taitneamh a bhaint as an tsamhraidh.
Juvenile training on Tuesday 6pm to 6:45pm at Farranfore GAA Grounds. This is for children born 2010 (7/8yrs) to 2004 (14yrs). €2 per session.
Secondary School & Senior training on Thursday will be at An Riocht Track, Castleisland from 7:45pm to 8:45pm. Last session will be June 21st. €2 club member, €4 non club member.
