The County Junior, Senior & Masters Track and Field Championships was held in glorious sunshine on Sunday 6th June in Castleisland. The turnout was well up from previous years which resulted in plenty of competitive events. We had a very strong turnout from our club with thirteen men and six women competing in various events. A total of 32 individual medals were won.
A special well done to the Senior Men's team, made up of twelve athletes who competed in most events on the program. It was a great team effort with top three positions in all entered events. Our club was second overall, Tralee Harriers AC were the overall winners.
Overall Points:
Senior men finished in 2nd place with 23 points (Tralee Harriers 1st on 44points)
Senior Women finished in 2nd place with 12 points (Tralee Harriers 1st on 18points)
Siofra Foley was our only Junior competing and collected 8 points. (Well Done)

The Women Senior won silver in the 4x100m relay (Siofra, Marie, Mary & Bernie).

Well done to our Juvenile athletes who represented their schools in the Kerry Schools Track & Field Championships held on Tuesday 1st May.
Malachy Kirwan (Pobalscoil Dhuibhne ) 2nd in Minor 100m, 300m & Long Jump.
Cian Spillane (Milltown Pres.) 1st in Minor 300m & 1500m.
Liath Lenihan (KCC) 3rd in Junior 100m & 2nd in Long Jump.
Shauna McCarthy (KCC) 3rd in Junior 800m.
Natasha Myers (KCC) was 3rd in Intermediate Long Jump. Best of luck to them when the compete in the South / North Munster Schools T&F this week.
