Club Weekly Notes week end May 13th

The East, South & North Munster Schools T&F C'Ships were held over last week. We had a number of our club juveniles competing in various events and did very well.

Patrick Kearney (St. Brendan's Killarney) was second in the Junior Discus with a throw of 28.07m. 

Shauna McCarthy (KCC) was second in the Junior 1500m with a time of 5:15. 

Natasha Myers (KCC) was third in the Intermediate Long Jump. 

Liath Lenihan (KCC) was placed fourth in the Intermediate Hurdles & High Jump.
Siofra Foley (St. Brigids Killarney) was third in the Intermediate Javelin

Cian Spillane (Milltown Pres.) was first in the Minor 800m with a time of 2:18.

Well done also to Malachy Kirwan who competed and just missed out in qualification. We wish them the best of luck when they compete in the Munster Schools T&F Championships on Sat. 19th May in Castleisland.

Congratulations to all our Juvenile Athletes who competed in the County Track & Field Championships held over two days of last weekend in Castleisland. Weather conditions were ideal

and there was some very exciting races over all age categories. We will post full results next week. A special thanks to our juvenile coaches, Maria McCarthy (Track), Sean O'Shea (Throws) and Jerome Crowley (Jumps) for their support in preparing the children for competition over the last few months. It was evident that the hard work payed off with all our juveniles making the finals and many winning medals. Next up will be Munster Juvenile T&F commencing early June.
Well done to Darragh Casey who competed in the Killarney Half Marathon on Sat. 12th May. Darragh set himself a new personal best time of 1:23. and finishing in fifth place overall.

Club Training:.
Juvenile training on Tuesday 6pm to 6:45pm at Farranfore GAA Grounds. This will be in preparation for the Munster Track & Field scheduled for June. This is for children born 2010 (7/8yrs) to 2004 (14yrs). €2 per session. New comers always welcome.

Secondary School & Senior training on every Thursday will be at An Riocht Track, Castleisland from 7:45pm to 8:45pm. This is endurance / distance training & Field events. €2 club member, €4 non club member.
