The Course....The same as every other year. Note that this is a bit longer than 4miles, it is in fact approx 4.2 miles (6.8K).
It starts just at the entrance to the Kerry Group Mill on the Farranfore to Firies road. This is just 400 meters from the registration point and parking area at the Community Hall. The first 400 meters is up hill, once at the top it is down hill and then levels off for at least 1 mile. Up hill as you approach Firies village, you then take a right turn towards the church. At the T junction you then go left, down hill. It is left again which takes you back onto the road for Farranfore village. Their is a short hill climb out of Firies Village. From here on you are returning on the same road you started from.
The roads should be reasonably quiet but we would advise all runners to keep close to the sides of the road.
Their will be plenty of steward along the route with water stations also available.

The record for the event is held by Boston Marathon winner Neil Cusack from Limerick (19:50) for the 4.2miles. John Lenihan from Ballymacelligott the second fastest. The only local winner over the past 49years was Tom McCarthy from Currow. Runners from all over munster take part in this road race and fun run.
Top internationals who have impressed include Jerry Kiernan (LA Olympic marathon star), Donie Walsh (Cork) and Liam O'Brien (Cork).
