Club Weekly Notes week end 18th March, 2018

Below are this week's notes. Thank you for your continued support.

Darragh Casey finished in second place at the Killarney Mountain Festival 10Km National Park run with a time of 38:28. 
Maria McCarthy took part in the Kilshelan 10mile road race held in Tipperary. Maria was the first lady in a seasonal best time of 63:22.

Tralee Harriers AC hosted the Tralee Full / Half Marathon which incorporated a 5K & 10K on Sunday March 18th. It was a bitterly cold morning, but thankfully the snow did not arrive. 
Arthur Fitzgerald was second in the 5K race. 
Marie McKenna came home in a personal best time of 1hr 30mins, 4th lady and 1st in her age category for the Half Marathon.  
Julie Dean also achieved a personal best time of 3hrs 42mins for the full marathon, 4th lady and 2nd in her age category. Taking 37mins of here last marathon. 


Congratulations to Shauna McCarthy who has been selected to represent Ireland in the SIAB Schools Cross Country Championships. The Junior race will be held in Nottingham, England on March 24th where she will be competing against teams from England, Whales and Scotland. We wish her the very best of luck.

Also. best of luck to our three masters athletes; Jim O'Shea, Michael O'Connor and Jerome Foley who will be competing in the European Masters Indoor Championships at Madrid, Spain this week.

The County Roads Championships (Junior, Senior, Novice & Masters) will be held on Sunday 25th March in Currow. The 5K race will start at 11am with registration before race. We encourage as many of our athletes to come along and support.
Munster 4 Mile Road Championships on Monday 2nd April in Castlelyons, Co. Cork. Closing date for receipt of entries is midnight on Wednesday 28th March





Club Training:.
Juvenile Indoor training every Tuesday from 6pm to 6:45pm at Farranfore Community Sports Hall. This is for children born 2010 (7/8yrs) to 2006 (12yrs). €2 per session. New comers always welcome. 

Maria's Strength, Endurance & Flexibility Exercise Class every Tuesday from 7pm to 8pm in Farranfore Community Hall. €5 per session

Secondary School & Senior training on every Thursday at 6:30pm in GAA grounds Farranfore. This is endurance / distance training. €2 club member, €4 non club member.
