Munster Senior, Junior & Juvenile Relay Cross Country

This year Kerry was host to the Muster Senior, Junior & Juvenile Relay Cross Country. It was held in Beaufort. The morning started off wet and windy, but as the day progressed the rain cleared for the senior events. A credit must go to Star of the Laune AC for putting together an excellent course.

All our athletes who participated did very well.
Thomas Clifford was among the Kerry team who won a county medal in the under 10 category
Natasha Myers just missed out in a county medal when they finished in fourth place under 10.

In the women's Senior race 16 runners competed.  Maria McCarthy ran a strong race and came in third place at a time of 20:18. She was also amongst the Kerry team who took 2nd place. The Kerry ladies team was:
Niamh O'Sullivan (An Riocht), Maria McCarthy (FFMV), Mary O'Connaor (An Riocht) and Ann Mangan (Star of the Laune). Positions: 1,3,12,16

In the mens Senior race 50 runners competed. Arthur Fitzgerald had a great race and finished in a strong 8th place at a time of 37:00. George McCarthy finished with a good time of 38:59. Kerry took third spot for the county. The Kerry mens team were:
Arthur Fitzgeradl (FFMV), Robert Purcell (Gneeveguilla), Donal O'Callahan (An Riocht), James Doran (An Riocht), George McCarthy (FFMV) and Darren Burke (An Riocht). Positions: 8,9,16,18,25,27
