European Masters Indoor Championships 2016

Many of Ireland’s leading masters were competing in the 11th European Masters Indoor Championships in Ancona Italy over the last week. Ireland finished tenth overall with medal haul of 24. This is a great achievement considering what a small country we are.

From our own small club, Michael O'Connor was competing in the O65 5K Road Race Walk. Mike finished in tenth place overall out of twenty seven competitors in a time of 30:12. 

Michael was also part of the Irish team who finished in fifth place. 

Very well done Michael, You are a great ambassador to sport of athletics.
