We were very lucky with the day, it remained dry and sunny for the most part. The course was in good condition with little mud to contend with.

We had a number of Juveniles competing in the U9 & U11 races.
Up first was the U9 girls 750m. Running for our club was Eabha McCarthy & Aoife O'Sullivan. There was well over 120 girls competing. Eabha had a great start and was in the top 20 at the half way point. Aoife was caught up in the main bunch and doing very well.
With 200m to go Eabha increased he pace and had a great finish to come in 12th place earning herself an individual medal. Aoife ran fantastically and produced a great sprint finish at the end.
In the U9 Boys 750m we had Diarmuid Kirwan running. Diarmuid ran a good race and was very happy with his performance.
In the Girls 1,500m race we had 3 runners. Shauna McCarthy, Ellen & Katie O'Sullivan. Like her sister Shauna was in the top 20 at the half way point and looking very comfortable. Shauna produced a great last 200m to finish in 14th place, just outside the medals. Ellen & Katie also did very well and finished very strong. The U11 girls had a very big field.
