The 2014 County Intermediate, Masters & Juvenile Uneven ages Cross Country Championships were held in  Faungorth Activity Centre, Kenmare on Sunday 12th October. The weather conditions were perfect, with warm sunshine the whole day. Thanks to Kenmare AC for hosting the event and providing a very good course with strong hills and undulating surfaces.

First up was the Intermediate & Masters women's race. They had 4 laps to do over the hilly course.
Caitriona Barry ran very well to take 2nd in the Intermediates race. Siobhan O'Keeffe also took part in the Intermediate race. This was Siobhan's very first XC race so very well done. Pauline Joseph took 1st in the O40 and our Master ladies won bronze. The team was made up of Caitriona Barry, Pauline Joseph & Hilda McKenna.

In the U9 Girls (750m) Eabha McCarthy ran very well to come from the back of the race to finish in 2nd place. Her friend Aoife O'Sullivan also completed the course. Well done.

In The U9 Boys we had 4 competing: Diarmuid Kirwan, Sean Fenton, Shaiden Lyne & Kian Costello. Sean Fenton ran a very solid race to lead for most of the race and finish very strong to take 1st place. The boys picked up Bronze team medals for their great efforts.

In the U11 Girls (1,500m) we had 7 competing: Ellen O'Sullivan, Katie O'Sullivan, Corrina Griffin, Shauna McCarthy, Emma Casey, Alice Casey, Ellen Kelliher. Shauna McCarthy displayed a great show of pure endurance when she took the lead very early in the race and held onto this lead to take 1st place. We had three girls to finish in the top 10. In doing so they took 1st in the team prize. Well done to all seven girls who showed great strength, especially those who raced for the very first time.

Like the girls, our U11 boys secured 1st place in the team prize. Well done to you all.
