The Munster Masters and Juvenile Development Cross Country Championships were held in Beaufort on Sunday 1st December 2013. The weather conditions were perfect for the events. A special thanks must go to the organisers of this years event. Everything was well organised and all the races went off on time.
Their was a great turn out of Kerry club athletes in all ages which was great to see.

Juvenile "B"....
Farranfore had 4 Juveniles competing at this years events.
First up was Cormac Costello in the U9 boys 750m. Cormac finished in 15th place which was enough to place him in the county team silver medal winners. Cormac was the third Kerry boy to finish.
Start Of The Laune AC Boys team finished in third place for their club with Kenmare in fourth.
In the U11 Girls we had Shauna McCarthy & Corrina Griffin competing. Shauna finished in 20th place where Corrina was 39th out of a field of 73. Shauna was the 5th Kerry girl to finish and she got bronze for the county team, just one point behind Clare who got silver. Both Shauna and Corrina are just aged 9 so this was a great result for them.
Thomas Clifford took part in the U11 1000m race. Thomas ran an excellent race where he produced a very fast sprint finish which gave him 1st place, Gold medal. Thomas is a very dedicated young athlete who trains hard, gets back up after defeat to come out on top. The U11 Kerry boys did very well to secure silver for the county. Well done a great achievement for Thomas.
Master Women....
Caitriona Barry took part in the masters women 4000m race. Caitriona just missed out in an individual medal, she finished in 4th place. She was the second Kerry finisher and they secured the bronze county team medal O35 group.
Niamh O'Sullivan (An Riocht) was the overall winner and An Riocht club team also took 3rd place.
Master Men....
George McCarthy, Ger Ladden & Aiden McCarthy represented us in the Masters Mens 7000m race. Their was a 127 strong field. George ran a great race to finish 3rd in his category. George was also the first Kerry man to finish. Ger ladden was 5th in his category and was part of the mens county team O50 to win Silver.
