Irish Team for Eurpopean Athletics C'Ship League 2013

Athletics Ireland have announced the 50 strong Irish team for the European Athletics Team Championships 1st League, Dublin, June 22/23rd. Over 650 athletes, from twelve European Countries, will be competing in twenty events for Men and Women over the two days in Santry, and the excitement and anticipation is building daily. The Irish Team will be competing against teams from eleven European countries in Santry 

The Irish team is a mix of experienced international athletes and young upcoming talent, and will be ready to perform to the best of their ability on June 22/23rd.

We have two Kerry Athletes competing in the Irish Team.

Laura Crowe of An Riocht AC will compete in the 3000m race. Following her fine performance in the 800m IAAF Diamond League Meeting at the Bislett Games in Oslo last Thursday. With a new PB of 2:02 and she is currently the fastest irish lady in the 1500m this season anticipate a strong race from Laura.

Claire Fitzgerald of Tralee Harriers AC will compete in the Shot Putt and Discus field events. Claire has dominated these events at national level over the last number of years.This will be a great opportunity for Claire to compete against the best in europe.
