Join SPAR and RAY for 5K - March 25th, Killarney

We posted some weeks ago news about how the Today FM Ray D'Arcy show in conjunction with SPAR and Athletics Ireland will be hosting the “Join SPAR and Ray for 5K” fun run/walk on Monday 25th March at 1pm.
This is a series of lunch time runs in 5 Cities/Towns in 5 days and is for all levels of fitness.
We're encouraging anyone who wants a relatively easy way to improve their health to take to their feet and go from couch to 5k in a matter of months.
Previous post information: HERE

THE COURSE....
The Starting line is along Mission Road, just inside the entrance to the National Park, across from St. Mary's Cathedral. The route will take you through the scenic National Park and it will finish just outside Deenagh Lodge, which is just inside the park entrance.

REGISTRATION..... CHANGED
Registration on the day has been changed to the Gym at the Killarney Community College on New Road.
We would advise people to register on-line. This makes it easier for the organisers.
You can register on line: HERE
Entry fee is just €5 which includes the Ray D'Arcy goody bag which has the commemorative tee-shirt.
Parking will be made available for the fun run/walk, so please allow an extra 15mins for parking.

DIRECTIONS ....
If you're not sure of the exact location then the easiest way to get there is from the Bypass which runs to the north of the town itself. The most westerly junction on the Bypass is the Ballydowney Roundabout. Take the 2nd left here and head south...

After 600 metres on the Port Road, turn left onto New road, the Community College is on the left.

If you are coming from the other direction i.e. the South...then the turn off to New Road is about 250m after St. Mary's Cathedral.

The start line is about 900m from the Community College (registration). The entrance to the Demesne / National Park is just across the road from St. Marys Cathedral...

The Ray D’Arcy show on today FM will be broadcasting live from Killarney on the run day from 9am to 12 noon. Ray D'Arcy will also be taking part in the run.
Tune into the Ray D'Arcy show on Today FM 9am - 12, Monday - Friday
