Weather conditions were ideal for this years Annual New Years Charle's O'Shea 10K & 5K. Held in Beaufort and organised by Star Of The Laune AC it attracted record numbers for both races with temperatures reaching 12oC and sunshine with no wind it was ideal for all runners and spectators. Our club was well represented. In the 5K Brendan Lynch was 3rd male (18:32) with Cian Spillane in 4th place 18:55. Mike O'Connor was first O70 23:13. In the main event, the 10K, Caitriona Barry, returning from a long term injury, did very well to finish third female in a time of 41:11. Shauna McCarthy, competing in a 10K distance for the first time was 8th overall and first U17 in a time of 44:13. Ger Ladden was second O55 in a time of 43:22.

Munster Indoors
Junior / U23 & Juv. Combined
The first athletics competition of the year was held in Nenagh Indoor Stadium on Sunday 5th January. Isaac & Ryan Vickers were competing in the Juvenile Combined events. In the Juniors we had Siofra Foley who took part in the Shot Putt and Weight For Distance (WFD). Siofra won the Junior WFD in 4.09m.

- Maria's Strength, Endurance & Flexibility Exercise Classes will commence on Tuesday 14th January from 7pm at the Sports Hall in Farranfore. Class is designed for all abilities from secondary school upwards. €5 per class.
- Juvenile Indoor Training will commence on Tuesday 21st January from 6pm at the Sports Hall in Farranfore. Please bring €2, water and suitable footwear for indoors. New Members welcome
- Thursday Nights from 6:30pm for Seniors and juveniles competing in Munster Schools XC. Grass Session on GAA Field Farranfore. €2
