The Munster Schools Indoor C'Ships were held in Nenagh during the week.
Aine O'Shea (Mercy MountHawk Tralee) was third in the Junior Shot with a throw of 8.61m.
National Schools XC Championships
The Irish Life Health All Ireland Schools Cross Country Championships took place in the picturesque surroundings of Clongowes Wood College, Kildare on Saturday March 9th with some exciting team and individual battles across all age categories. Shauna McCarthy was representing Killorglin Community College in the Intermediate Girls 3500m race. Ground contitions were very good with a flat course it was destined to be a fast paced race. Shauna got off to a good start placed in the top 40 out of 80 competitors as they headed into the first of two laps. Holding her steady pace she excelled through the wave of top runners to finish in 22nd place. She was very happy with her performance considering she was running with athletes almost twice her age. We would like to congratulate Shauna in what has been a very successful cross country season for her, winning individual national and two provincial team medals along with Munster and county wins. We would also like to congratulate Niamh O'Mahony of An Riocht AC who won the Intermediate Girls title is fine style.

The National Masters Indoor Championships were held in Athlone AIT arena on Sunday 10th March. There was a great turnout from all age categories.

Michael O'Connor had a great 3000m Race Walk to take 1st spot in a time of 18:14.26.
Sean O'Shea continues to dominate his category to win the Shot Putt with a throw of 12.03m.
Jim O'Shea, still competing at a high standard where age has no boundaries, took gold in the High jump 1.25m, and gold for the 60m Sprint in a time of 9.77sec.
Jerome Foley (O55) had a battle in his hands when competing in the 200m sprint. It was a photo finish for second place where Jerome came out on top to claim silver in a time of 27.36sec. in the 400m Jerome again was second with a time of 1:01.26.

Caitriona Barry was ninth lady hhome in the Duhollow AC 10 Mile road race which was held on a cold and windy Sunday Afternoon. Caitriona completed the distance in just over 71mins. Well done.

The Kerry Athletics Indoor Development Sports Hall Games which will be held in Milltown on Saturday 23rd of March starting at 11am. Timetable is available to view on our website. Entries must be submitted through our club secretary. This is open to juvenile U9 to U12 Boys & Girls who did NOT win an individual medal at the 2018 Kerry County or Munster Juvenile Championships. You must be registered with the club in order to compete.

- Juvenile Indoors on Tuesday in the Sports Hall Farranfore from 6pm to 6:45pm. Open to all registered juveniles aged 8yrs (Born 2011) to 12yrs (Born 2006). €2 per session.
- Secondary School / Senior training on Thursday's at 6:30pm in GAA grounds Farranfore. This is endurance build training. €2 club member, €4 non club AAI member .
- Maria's Strength, Endurance & Flexibility Exercise Classes on Tuesday at 7pm in the Sports Hall in Farranfore. €5 per class
