GLOHEALTH NATIONAL MASTERS T&F C'SHIPS 2015

With the World Masters T&F Championships taking place in a couple of weeks in France, and many athletes using this year's event as a sharpener, competition was fierce on Sunday's Masters National Championships in Tullamore July 26th 2015. Wet and windy conditions prevailed for much of the day, only really settling down towards the end of the afternoon. We had three of our masters athletes competing where they pick up a combined total of 6 national medals.

Niamh O'Sullivan (An Riocht) with Maria McCarthy
AAI Masters Gold medalists

In the middle distance Maria McCarthy took part in the O40 3000m. Maria ran an extremely competitive race and with 200 m's to go she came from 3rd down to win Gold in a time of 10min 17sec. This was just 1sec of her personal best. Maria will be representing Ireland in the World Masters next month in France, so we wish her all the success.
