On Sunday 6th November the Kerry County Senior, Junior & Juvenile Relay Cross Country was held at Kilahone, Firies. After all the rain during the week the ground was wet and muddy. Fortunately on race day, it was warm and sunny.
Thanks to Denis Cronin and family for the use of their land and to the local organising committee led by Joe Clifford and Jim O'Shea in laying out the course.
SENIORS:
Congratulations to Maria McCarthy who got a silver medal in the womens senior race.
Arthur Fitzgerald also ran a good race to finish second in the senior mens race with the team winning silver (Arthur Fitzgerald, George Mccarthy, Ger Ladden and Tadhg Mannix)

JUVENILE RELAYS:
Yet again the juveniles did very well against tough competition.
Under 9 Girls relay team 2nd Place: Shauna McCarthy, Leah Lenihan, Rebecca Kenny, Natasha Myers and Aoife Clifford.
Under 9 Boys relay team 1st Place: Brian Burke, Liam O'Driscoll, Thomas Clifford and Michael Brosnan.
Under 11 Girls relay team finished well up. They are a young team and will be their again next year: Ciara Kearney, Chloe O'Connor, Megan Brosnan and Julianne Murphy.
Under 11 Boys relay team 4th Place: Danny Brosnan, Brian O'Driscoll, Cian Lenihan and Aaron Flynn.
Under 13 Boys relay team 2nd Place: Jake Flynn, Jack O'Driscoll, Diarmuid Brosnan and David Kenny .

Congratulations to all the Juvenile Athletes who took part in the 2011 Cross Country races this year. They won division 2 and are now promoted.
A special thanks has to go out to their coach Arthur Fitzgerald and his assistants Mary Kennedy and Jer Crowley for all their hard work and commitment throughout the season.
