Maria McCarthy was awarded for here achievements in the master cross country and roads. Maria had a very successful year winning numerous medals at Munster and National level. Her greatest achievement was when she represented Ireland in the 2015 World Masters Athletics championships at Lyon in France and earned herself an individual silver medal in the 5000 meter track race. Later in the year she wore the Irish singlet again when she competed in the British & Irish Masters International Cross Country Championships. Here Maria was first home for the irish team to take second place. Maria is one of our main coaches within the club for juveniles and senior athletes. Everyone in the club are so proud of her achievements.
