Their was a change to the weather this week but thankfully the rain stayed away for the most part and the temperature was ideal.

First up was the Womens Novice and U18's 3000m race. There was a great turn out in the womens Novice with over 20 ladies competing for the title. This was well up from previous years, so well done to all the club ladies for coming out.
We had a group of four ladies competing in cross country for the very first time. For some it was the very first time they even same a XC race.
They all completed the course, so well done.
Pauline Joseph, Hilda Mckenna, Danielle Corkery & Kathy Chambers.

In the U10 Girls (1,000m) race, Ellen Kelleher finished in 4th place, followed home by Eabha McCarthy & Laura O'Driscoll

The U10 Boys (1,000m) did well considering most of them were out of age. Cormac Costello was the first FFMV to finish with other team members, Jack O'Brien, Josh Vermigilo & Diarmuid Kirwan

The U12 Girls (2,000m) did very well with two individual medals and 2nd team. Natasha Myers ran a very good tactical race the win the race. Shauna McCarthy was in 6th place. The remaining team to win silver was made up of Rebecca Kenny, Corrina Griffin & Emma Casey.

The U12 Boys (2,000m) also did well to take silver for FFMV team. Anthony Kelliher ran a very strong race to finish in 9th place. He was followed home by Conall O'Mahony, James Horgan, Malachy Kirwan, Cian Spillane & Jack Brosnan.

Siofra Foley took part in the U14 3,000m race. She enjoyed the experience.

David Kenny and Fiachra Clifford (STOL) had a great battle in the U16 Boys 4,000m race. David finished just behind Fiachra to take silver

Michael O'Shea did very well in the U18 6,000m race. Again very competitive this year. Michael finished in 4th place, which was very good considering that this was his first xc championships. Plenty more to come.

This years Novice Mens 6,000m race was well up compared to other years. This years winner was Conor O'Mahony of Tralee Harriers. We had Ger Ladden representing our club. Ger ran very well and mixed it up well with the younger men. Plenty of gas left in Ger yet.!!
