The weather conditions at the Aviva All Ireland schools track and field championships must have been great for the athletes competing to judge by the number of new records that were set. Apart from one shower of rain the day was excellent for athletics.

Well done to David Kenny (St Brendans) who won Gold in the Junior 1200m Race Walk. It was a very close race between David and second place Andrew Carroll right up to the line. This was a great achievement for David as he has just recently taking up the race walk event. Also congrats to his coaching team.
