SPAR Great Ireland Run .. Sun 14th April 2013

Some 10,000 runners of all ages took part in the SPAR Great Ireland Run in the Phoenix Park, Dublin in very windy but warm conditions. Among these were almost 1,500 children in the Mini and Junior Runs for five to eight year olds and nine to fifteen year olds respectively.
The event also featured the SPAR Great Ireland Mile for elite men run on the main road of the Phoenix Park.
The 10K race also incorporated the AAI National 10km Championships.

Well done to Maria McCarthy who was the 8th irish woman to finish. In doing so she also took third in the O35 category. Her husband George McCarthy finished in 5th place in the O40 category with a time of 35:45.
Pat O'Shea from Iveragh AC took 3rd in the O60 category with a time of 39:42.

Well done also to Shauna & Eabha McCarthy who ran a great race in the childrens Mini 1.6Km race.
